Challenge
To give the people of London Bridge that summer feeling! Alongside a fun packed summer of performances and beach bars, the Marble team were once again asked to take over Hays Galleria, Southwark Crown Court and Green Trees area. This years theme was nautical, taking inspiration from the great HMS Belfast. The designs had to be fit to take on the huge footfall of 30,000 per day, and fit in with the surrounding bars and activations.
Solution
Our main challenge was to make our designs look completely different to last years, while keeping within the specific theme. We went for an organic, beach feel, without any plastic. Our designs included a picnic and performance area in Hays Galleria, with a fun ship wheel, anchors and fishnets for decoration. We also managed to incorporate a real life boat for kids to play on, perfect for a quick selfie!
One of our personal favourites was transforming ordinary concrete benches into sail boats that look like they are about to float straight off into the Thames! We used traditional wood decking to give that nautical feel, and added hints of the brand colour to really make it pop. More London are a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to next years theming.
