Challenge
We were tasked with hosting the second event in the HenkelX Ventures Xchange series, which invited industry corporate innovators to gather at a high-impact round table discussion. This time the purpose of the event was to foster collaboration between corporates, VCs and start-ups, to discuss innovation and the methods to drive sustainable change, encouraging cross industry knowledge sharing. HenkelX Ventures asked us to build on the success of the virtual roundtable we hosted in May, and create a small in-person gathering in Berlin to enhance networking opportunities, yet ensuring that necessary safety measures and guidelines against Covid-19 are met. We were also asked to provide communications support through thought leadership pieces and influencer management.
Solution
Involved in all aspects of the event creation, from creative production solutions to the content and communications strategies, we acted as the extended arm of the Henkel events and PR teams. We worked with the Henkel team to curate the event content, guest list, presenters and moderator – Gail Gallie, Co-Founder of Project Everyone. The roundtable brought together those who championed innovation and game changing behaviour, to connect and together debate solutions to drive sustainable change and a more sustainable future. Innovation use-cases were shared from HenkelX Ventures in collaboration with Flatnut Ventures, FIEGE xpress ventures and Notpla, with trial and error the main theme throughout, before moving onto the roundtable discussion.
As the event took place during the pandemic in Berlin, we needed to ensure that all of the safety measures were put in place and carefully monitored during the event, ensuring that guests were able to connect and engage with the discussions and other participants, whilst feeling safe being in the same space as others. For that we created a thorough registration process, as well as providing all guests and staff with branded face masks, and ensured the event layout allowed attendees to keep a safe distance in all of the event rooms. To keep in line with the sustainability ethos of the event, we enhanced and branded the space by designing and building bespoke signage pieces, made out of sustainable materials, as well as providing wooden event badges and a designated area to recycle them post-event. In addition to the event content, design and production, we also provided influencer management to coordinate the attendance of German B2B tech influencers, in addition to thought leadership article creation and press outreach.
