Challenge

We were brought on by firstminute capital to support with creative production and project management on their annual Investor Day. The conference connects and gathers the firstminute community, which consists of Investors, portfolio companies founders’ and valuable industry figures.

The most anticipated firstminute capital day of the year, the Investor Day, is where the global ecosystem comes together to network, make valuable connections, and throughout the day get valuable insights about the latest industry trends and developments. From keynotes, panels and roundtable discussions the Investor Day provides a relaxed environment throughout the day, culminating in a joyful seated dinner.

In our third year working as an extension of the internal firsminute team, Marble were tasked with providing an array of production and project management services, starting from event design and implementation, venue and catering management, to technical production and designing branded collateral, e.g. annual Investor Day booklet, notebooks. We also had to ensure that the event was as safe as possible, due to the ongoing pandemic, implementing Covid-19 compliant safety measures, such as on site testing and signage.

Key highlights:

  • 270 attendees
  • 35 speakers
  • 90% attendance rate
  • 70 % domestic & 30% international guests
  • 24 burst sessions
  • 6 keynote & panel sessions

Solution

Over 270 entrepreneurs, CEOs and global leaders gathered in 180 Strand for a full day of inspiring portfolio bursts, networking, keynotes and panel sessions.

Our third event with firstminute was undoubtedly the biggest yet, and the anticipation and excitement of attendees was palpable. The Investor Day provides an extremely valuable opportunity for investors and entrepreneurs to gather and knowledge share, as well as learn the latest developments from inside the firstminute ecosystem.

The jam-packed agenda included a keynote session from Michael Acton Smith (CEO at Calm); Julia Hartz (CEO at Eventbrite); and Ross Mason (Founder of MuleSoft), just to name a few. The Investor Day also attracted an impressive roster of guests, including the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, and Tim Berners-Lee, the founder of the World Wide Web. The day concluded with an interesting keynote session with political strategist Dominic Cummings, talking around the subject of Covid-19 and how to cut through political messaging.

We look forward to working with firstminute for their continued annual Investor Days, providing the platform for the next generation of startups and entrepreneurs.
