Brief
The Marble team were tasked with producing two events for Boden, a press and influencer dinner hosted by Johnnie Boden and the SS19 press day.
The brief for Johnnie Boden’s dinner was to take over the famous 108 Garage on Golborne Road in Notting Hill, to replace the existing furniture with new and produce the table design together with Boden and the wonderful florist Willow Crossley; to create a magical environment for guests to network in.
The brief for press day SS19 was to find a light, stylish but simple, and authentic Georgian townhouse venue in the West or Central London area, large enough to showcase the main womenswear and minis collections, but also cozy and intimate. We were asked to design the space so it would feel chic, summery (at the very start of cold winter months) and bring to life the style of the brand; gloriously British and timelessly stylish.
Result
Johnnie’s dinner was a huge success, featuring in the Evening Standard and Daily Mail with pictures of the VIP guests such as Bodyguard star Keeley Hawes, former British Vogue Editor-in-Chief Alexandra Shulman, actress Camilla Rutherford and Isabel Spearman. We produced a bespoke design of the table stationary and added special touches, such as Boden napkins embroidered with the guests’ initials. Guests were treated to a candlelit dinner with delicious octopus, Wagu Beef and chocolate artichoke, selected from a specially curated autumnal menu from executive chef Chris Denney.
For the SS19 press day, we chose a light and spacious room at 10 – 11 Carlton House Terrace, home to the British Academy. The day was sunny and warm, with press and buyers grabbing coffees from a branded coffee bike on their arrival and Instagramming the first floral feature by the entrance – the flower arch designed by Willow Crossley. The main room was split into two sections, the main section presenting the SS19 womenswear collection with a gigantic flower chandelier, mannequins dressed with new season outfits and beautiful shell crowns and bookshelves adorned with accessories and flowers. The smaller section of the room showcased the minis collection, and was turned into a kids paradise by Laura Timmons – which was well appreciated by the toddlers during the day. Throughout the day the guests were enjoying lovely garden juice from Searcys and delicious canapes from Peardrop, from Marble’s Collective.
All of the leftover flowers were donated to Refettorio Felix in St Cuthbert’s Day Centre.
And now onto the next one.
